We are full time RVers ready to quit work and travel accross the USA. Should I buy any type of campground membership or a Golden Eagle pass before hitting the road?

Welcome slmartin464. Glad you joined us. We use and like Passport America. 1/2 off the regular price, but you must watch....some campgrounds will not take on weekends, busy seasons, like in FL. But if you can work around that, I'd buy it. Money back after 2 times you camp using it!

Unless you are over 62, no National Park Service card (National Park Pass or Golden Eagle)will give you any discounts on camping. The Golden Age Passport (must be over 62), as well as the Golden Access Passport (for disabled and handicapped) will give you half price camping at all National Parks and National Forests. Some states (Louisiana for one)honors either of these cards for half price camping in their state parks.
I also use Passport America as well as Escapees (15% off).

Your opinion is welcome in these areas: But
advertising is against IRV2 s policy. Please remove the line from your post by tomorrow , or it will be deleted.

Thank You.

slmartin464: send me a pm for more details if I can be of help, have been ft nearly 3 yrs. but fairly new to this site. Will try to answer w/o appearing as advertising.
Agree with moderator about PPA, good value. Also pay $99. for membership, parks $5.00 or $10.00, maybe $2.00 extra for 50 amp. service.
One club offers dry camping spaces, like $2.50, spent 5 nights in CA park total $10.00 with use of park services, like a family. With E & W might be $12.-15.00
Have read where some have paid $25. to dry camp, to each there own. My opinion is there is something for everybody, from Quartzsite to Disneyworld; enjoy.

Now could a "moderator" clear up what is advertising and what is trying to help and save someone the time that others have spent to get answers. Felt I understood policy but postings above from different moderators have me confused, (doesn't take much these days).

Since the "moderator"'s commnents came after myu post, I have no idea what he was talking about. Sounds like he want to delete anything he may not agree with.
