While not full timers, a typical trip for us is 1-3 months.

Below is my Tiffin weight sticker for reference. It should also be noted that I opted for the 24k/30k chassis vs. the standard 22k/26k, which nets an additional 1.5k of capacity (as the chassis itself is 500#s more between the 22k and 24k; while the difference in capacity between the 24k and 26k is almost the entire 2k).

As you can see, we have a CCC of 3,544 (OCCC of 4,822) which is exceptional for a gasser, and better than a lot of DPs.

Usng round numbers, we weigh ~22,600#s fully loaded for our travels (most recently 4 corner weighed in Perry in March, with very good weight distribution, and that weight was within 100#s of our previous CAT scale weight).

So, that means we are 3,500#s over the 19,100# UVW as posted for our coach.

That includes the full fresh water (81 gal / 672#s) and both of us (~325#s), so that means we carry ~2,500# of "stuff" with us, in our 31SA. It's ridiculous......

Our basement bays are "full"' but not "packed". No pets or pet food, or holiday decorations.

The one big item we carry is a Mini Max Big Green Egg which is 80#s plus 20#s of charcoal.

2 folding bikes, total another 50#s.

My tool bag is probably 30#s, other misc parts and my detailing bins are proably another 50#s, 50 amp extension cord another 20#s.

Tow bar is proably 30#s.

Wineguard Travler let's say 40#s.

So that accounts for 320#s of the 2,500#s.

We carry very little in the way of canned goods, or bottled / canned beverages (other than adult beverages), but the fridge and freezer are well stocked.

We carry way too much clothing and shoes. The bedroom closets and cabinets over the bed are usually full. Under the bed are (way too many) extra linens, towels, blankets.

Way too much in the way of misc. household cleaners, supplies etc.

We just added an inflatable stand up paddle board, so add another 30#s, and on long trips, I'll usually add my air compressor so that's proably 25#s.

I think it would be pretty easy to take off 300#s (or maybe more) of "stuff", but not going there because we don't have too.......

As half timers we recently switched coaches after 14 years in the same rig. Good thing they both have 9,000 lbs of CCC. No way could we do it with just 1500 nor would I want to have to. 100 lbs of clothes...you must be a nudist. Heck, we have that in shoes.

Im still baffled. My WHOLE house closet cant weigh more than 150lbs. Thats shoes, suits, pants, shirts, jackets, etc.

I carry a spare set of race gear when traveling... thats 35lbs total!

I emptied my linen closet in my coach today... maybe 50lbs.

I can probably carry 1000lbs worth of items... but I dont see a reason why?

By the time we reached Mesa last fall, we had 62 bottles of wine with us (our winter supply). 100 lbs right there.

Probably 50# in my shoes (what can I say, I love shoes).

We use to travel with all of our winter clothes (sweatshirts, heavy pants, rain slickers, parkas) - all of that adds up.

Might have more cooking equipment, might have golf clubs in the bay, have extra fluids/filters, have other add on equipment that we purchase along the way.

You can carry as little as you want. For planning purposes, 1500# per person is a good place to start.

There are gas class A motorhomes out there that actually have more CCC than some diesels. Full timing since 2005 - a full tank of water (600#) + all our stuff + dog and cat + us is 3,000 pounds. I think we are in the middle of the full timer "stuff" range. That said we still have 1,500 left on GVWR and all of the 4,000 towing capacity available. 2016 Newmar Canyon Star 3710 on standard 26k chassis.
