Clearwater FL Long Term?

I'm thinking of heading to Clearwater to visit some friends after the holidays. Due to some medical issues I can't make reservations now. Will it be just hard to get a space for a couple of months or will it be impossible? I'm thinking late January to late March. TIA

Clearwater is a popular area but I'll bet if you go inland you'd find something like in Clermont, Bushnell, Webster, Sumterville. Are you a member of Escapees? They have a park in Bushnell.

There are a couple parks in Largo. (A few miles south of Clearwater). Iíd try there before going to the other side of Tampa.

Thanks everyone for your thoughts and suggestions. I have a lady friend in Clearwater so I'd like to stay within 30 miles or so.

I would recommend staying much closer to your friend. Driving in the Tampa St Pete area in winter, is very time consuming. Traffic can be maddening at almost any time of day.

We have stayed in Clearwater many times and love it, but in hotels. You will find very few rv parks in the area and most of those there, arenít very nice. If you want to be close to Clearwater Beach, itís even worse.

You can make a reservation now, as some parks have lenient cancellation policies. Parks in the area fill up fast. It may be too late now.

Go on campgroundreviews.com. Click on FL and and then click on Clearwater. You will see all that is the area.

If she is close to/ on the beach that could be a mile away. (YES, the traffic in CB can be that bad!)

There are a couple parks in Largo off of Ulmerton Road that put you pretty close to Rt-19 or Belcher Road with quick access into Clearwater (parts that are away from the beach.) I still think that's one of your best options.

(I live in Pinellas Park in the next city south of Largo)

Call (727) 531-5589 ask for Leslie. She's the manager and will take care of you if any spots are still available. Ask for a spot away from the road.

Leslie is AWESOME. That park is about 5 miles from our house.

I try it in a few weeks after I recover from my surgery and I have a better idea of time frame. I can't make reservations right now due to unknown health issues
