Thousands of "Snowbirds" ( Motorhomer / warm weather seekers ) winter up in Quartzite every winter ( sept - march ). Huge ongoing swap meet and rock-gem show. Massive free, off grid, motorhome parking in the desert BLM land. Plus several full hook up RV parks (reservation advised). Not too hot...not too cold. I'll be there!

House is in escrow, most all of the stuff we can't part with yet is in storage, and this week we will be outfitting the trailer for this adventure. We have to wait around town for my last visit to the Doc. It's kinda of funny. We will be staying at a KOA for 4 nights that is about 1.5 miles from our house . After that we are heading to one of our favorite lakes in Oregon (Fishlake) for a week to de-compress, and take it all in. From there who knows. Our trip will eventually take us to South Dakota. After that we are coming back west to San Diego, Ca to see my son, and his ship return to port after an 8 month deployment. Very proud of him following the old man's footsteps. After that east to Tenn,Al,Fl and who knows where.

Our trip is expected to last at least 2 years. Not sure after that. We are in search of our future home. Hopefully on a lake or river somewhere. I hope to keep posting about our travels.
First off, thank you for your service Chief! From an ex-MKCS and a retired MSSE4 (2008), good luck in your retirement and your much deserved new lifestyle. Hopefully we'll cross paths some day out on the road.
