My brother's family are full timers, and looking for health insurance. Escapees has an offering for RVrs, and a quick look at it made me seriously consider changing domicile from Washington to Texas.

Of course, there's a catch... no smokers, for example.
First, Liberty isn't health insurance -- they tell you that in their own literature.
Second, there's another catch -- pre-existing conditions.

Yes, that's why I said "smoking, for example". The point remains that there are healthcare alternatives for South Dakota domiciled other than traditional insurance companies. You may not qualify, TechWriter, but another reader might. I'm only offering information.

Ok, I did. Three times. Nothing like "fanboy"-ing there. Thanks.

I'd sure like to know what your point is. It seems you're just trolling now.

That is rich on this forum. iRV2 is about as anti-Escapee as can be. I've had moderators tell me I COULDN'T MENTION Escapees because it makes other mail forwarders angry.

I use Escapees mail and very happy with the service. Not sure what TechWriter's beef is with them. It costs about the same as all the others.
Well, that got out of hand fast

Anyway, I agree save the insurance. Of course, everyone is different and we're talking insuring RV's and not just autos but Nevada's vehicle insurance rates are just 2% above average. SD is 20% below, TX is 14% above and FL is 40% above. Those are statewide averages but there are worse places.

But Nevada's personal property tax is outrageous. Higher than California! But most other taxes are low or non-existent. Good if you live here but bad for domicile. We'd pay $2000 on our $150,000 Bay Star. Imagine a luxury coach

We chose TX over SD but they were neck and neck. We have health insurance through my former employer so that was off the table. We went with TX because we had Southwest Airlines points and we could get to Houston. Other than that, they both have their pros and cons.

We did a video about the various considerations if you're interested. Lot's of other videos on YouTube about the subject as well.

https://youtu.be/Z0zpGH0rXWo

Just so there's no trouble, we don't make money from out channel. Don't want anyone accusing of us spamming.
