Welcome to iRV2.com. We hope to continue hearing from you ion your search and experiences.
I am going to link this question to the TT and 5th Wheel forum under General discussion. You'll probably get more feedback from there.

24him,
Glad you found IRV2 and hope you enjoy the site.
I know a few folks with Excel trailers and they are generally pleased with them and Excel will stand behind the warranty. One commemt on Excel trailers is they tend to be heavy. Pin weights tend to run pretty high as well.

Hello and welcome.
I know some people with Excel trailers, and they all love them. As Ken said, they stand behind their warranty, but are heavy.
The weights on your model are:
Unloaded vehicle w/o water-14840
Hitch weight w/o water-2760
Maximum GVWR-18750
Good luck with your choice.

Might want to check out Travel Supreme. Also be leery of The RV Experience people, I found them to be untrustworthy! "Everyone learns from experience; the wise man learns from the experiences of others".
Good Luck, Jim

Kee and Harriet,
I noticed the post above was your first and that you joined iRV2 today.
Welcome to iRV2, we're really glad to have you here as a new member and are looking forward to reading your posts about your RVing experiences and adventures. You'll find a great bunch of folks on this site who are very knowledgeable of RVing, the rigs we use, and the places we go in them.
I'm not sure if you intentionally posted a quote of "24him's" post who started this thread without a comment of your own, or if you're having difficulties navigating around in the forum. Maybe you just wanted to 'bump' this thread to get additional comments?
Send me a PM if you need forum help.
To gain more exposure for this thread, I've linked it to our newly created "Excel Owner's Forum"; perhaps additional comments will be posted from there.
As you'll soon see, our members are eager to help and share their knowledge and experiences with others.
Again, welcome to iRV2, we're glad you joined.

Thanks Richard -- hopefully our new members will return and we can provide them with our take on the Excel 5th wheels.

24him,
Ask us questions and we will respond. Excel is a great 5er. For the one you are looking at you will need a lot of truck, i.e. MDT. The 35 MKO can max out a TowBoss. Ours runs about 16,500 with 3,700 lbs pin weight.

Before purchasing our current HH II, we were seriously looking at a 30' Excel, but just not quite enough room. Dry pin weight was 2800 empty, so you know it was no lightweight. (Have seen a local larger Excel being toted around by a SB F-250 )
