Is your coach exempt from the $800/yr tax MT just imposed?

I researched this when we went full time a little over a year ago. My taxes on the new coach were about the same as yours-and this was before the new $800/year charge. What I learned...

LLC insurance is higher and fewer companies offer it. Don't forget the toad costs in your calculations.

In the end it wasn't worth it for the extra hassle involved.

We were living in FL for many, many years but switched to SD. This saved us 2% on the sales tax so it was worth it for us. Like everything else there are pros and cons. The other pro was cheaper insurance. The con is higher vehicle registration costs.

You are going from no RV experience to full time with kids? Wow! Jumping right into the deep end.
I will definitely look into that - thank you for the tip! Our coach MSRP is just below $300k, so I don't think we'd have any additional registration costs. It looks like we could do the LLC for 1 year in MT and then transfer to our residence in TN and be good to go, but we shall see

Yes, we are jumping into the deep end. Go big or go home, right?

Have you checked with TN about transferring the registration as far as the tax liability?

I would be interested to know as that is one of the states we are considering when we come off the road.
