Too hot, to muggy. Just kidding you. Where on gulf coast? The gulf coast runs from Pensacola to Key West. Many think that time of the year is virtually best Florida has. Beware it is also Peak of Hurricane season. we live in Port Charlotte, FL. safe travels. Ed

Go to accuweather.com and look forward in time and this will give you what the weather was last year for the area you want. We use this a lot.

It might be sunny and warm, it might be sunny and cold, It might be rainy and cold. It might be all of the above. We have lived in Florida for 15 years and there is no way to determine what the weather is going to be like except to say it will be warmer that Michigan. Chuck

Any place from Clearwater south to Ft. Meyers Beach is beautiful. Naturally, the farther south you are, the less you will be affected by the cooler weather n the winter. EVERYWHERE along the Gulf coast is a target for hurricanes from June until November. You will just need an evacuation plan if a storm approaches. There is usually plenty of advance warning. Of course the closer you are to the beautiful Gulf beaches, the more you are going to spend for a spot. We are located in the Big Bend region and it can get cold and nasty in the winter, or stay warm and pleasant. Good luck. Chuck

We normally get home in mid Oct. (Cape Coral) and it's still too hot to unload the MH comfortably.

The gulf coast of Florida is very diverse in terms of what you would like to do. The panhandle is very family and golfer friendly. The area from about Apalachicola to Tarpon Springs is less developed & very fisherman oriented. From Tampa down is true "South Florida" snowbird country.

If you've never been there, you can't go wrong with places to stay. Sept/Oct are a "shoulder" season so you can get in most anywhere.

Weather wise, it will be hot but cooling in the evening. Close to the gulf the breezes make it very pleasant. Generally speaking to Florida rainy season is ending so the daily showers of mid summer are less frequent. We are going to head that direction on a week or so & spend Sept/Oct in the Keys. Can't wait.

Fort De Soto Campground in St. Petersburg is a nice place to stay.
