FT Using South Dakota as Prime Residency

We are in the beginning stages of getting ready to become FT RVers and are seriously looking at South Dakota as our primary "home base". I have been looking into some different mail forwarding companies. Any FTers in SD have one they like better than another? Why?

Thanks All !

I know of at least 3 SD based professional mail forwarding services. They all have excellent reputations and very satisfied customers. When I went fulltime 6 yrs ago, I chose Americas Mailbox near Rapid City, because I was a frequent visitor to that end of the state. I'm still with Americas Mailbox and very happy with their services. But others are also very happy with their choice at the other SD mail services. I don't think there is a wrong choice.

Thank You! That is actually one that we were really interested in. We also like that there is a camp ground right there for while we are setting everything up.

We have used MY DAKOTA ADDRESS in Madison for the last 6+years of FTing.

We have been very-very happy with the service provided. One of the things we wanted was the notification service that Terri (the owner) provided via email. For us this was and continues to be important as we don't sit still for long periods of time, and certainly could never be on a set scheduled delivery.

What Terry provides is an email to us any and every day that a piece of mail arrives. The email tells us what arrived, and where it came from per the return on the envelope. This way we always know what is there, whether its something we want sooner rather than later, and if something we are waiting for arrives. Its a very personalized service-as Madison is a small town, and the courthouse, vehicle registration office, etc is right across the street. So Terri can and does do many things beyond just the mail forwarding for us. We pay for the top tier service, and you can certainly get a cheaper service. But we wouldn't be without what we have with her, and can't duplicate with any of the other services currently that I am aware of.

No connection whatever for me or the service--just a very happy customer.

I'm guessing most here have only used one of the three services, and I don't remember a bad post on any of them.

Like Jim2, we chose America's Mailbox as it was handy to an area of the country we love to visit anyway. We've used the service for a year and one half so far and have no complaints.

The driver's license station is no more than 10 minutes away from America's Mailbox office/campground location. We were in and out of there in no more than 10 minutes. We let them stand in line for the 4 or 5 hours we'd been told it could take to get out SD titles, but be aware, they will charge you $25 for each title for that service.

We have My Home Address, INC in Emery, SD. They also are associated with a local campground. We got there about Wensday noon, had our Driver's License by 3:00pm. Went to the courthouse Thursday AM and checked out of the campground by 10:00AM. Bruce at myhomeaddressinc.com had all the forms and got everything ready for us so the whole process was done in two twenty minute visits to the DL center and the courthouse.

Response and promptness in send our mail when we call is great.

Thanks for the feedback everyone! Sounds like any of them in SD have great reps and now is just a matter of which one will fit our needs best.

Another vote for Terri at MyDakotaAdress. Great service! And Lake Herman State Park is located right outside of Madison. Electric only but the upper loop is good for big rigs.
