Full Timers & Seasonal Work.....

A few years ago, met a couple who winter in Florida and do CSA counter work a few hours a week for the cruise lines. Few hours a day for departing cruises. Leaving plenty of time for other activities in the Tampa area.

We found a web site that listed jobs for RV's. Did have some interesting PT jobs that were seasonal.

Just curious if any of you work or have worked PT seasonal work and if so what and where?

Any particular web site you use to give you leads on jobs?

We have worked seasonally for 9 years, mostly volunteering with state parks. While we didn't receive "pay" the free site has to be considered, especially receiving an oceanfront site in Ventura County, CA. DH is a retired grocery manager and he has worked several holiday seasons with his old employer, Kroger. They have stores all over and they always need more help during the holidays. This year we took our first paying position as gate attendants with the Corps of Engineers. We found the job when camping in the area visiting my sister and there was no host at the booth. It never hurts to ask. We just bid on the job for next year. There are a lot of seasonal worksites, Coolworks, workamper, even Craigslist. We have never used any of those to get a job, we choose the area we want to be in then look for a job. I usually start by getting a list of campgrounds and start calling the mgr or the ranger.

Workamper News is a great place to start. It is a paid yearly subscription but well worth the money. Found my first seasonal job for 2016 from the magazine. You can also google "workamper seasonal positions" and it will pop up a lot of places to look.

And, although I don't do it, there's Amazon dot com. As I understand it. You work at one of their fulfilment centers. Temporary from now through the end of December.
