After many years of fighting it, I finally gave into my wife, relatives, and friends and got a facebook account. Now that I have the account, I do see some real value in this free forum. I have been able to find several long lost friends, distant relatives, childhood buddies, old classmates, and old military comrades and I am able to easily keep up with family, friends, coworkers, etc. all at the same time. You would be surprised to find out how many businesses and community groups such as RV clubs are now on facebook. If you do not yet have a facebook account, I really encourage you to take a few minutes and set-up an account. It truly is just another form of online interaction like travel blogs, discussion forums, live chat, photo posting, news blogs all wrapped up into one. You can easily link to your other online endeavors and you can pick and choose what things are seen by what people. Don't get me wrong, I am not a person that likes to use texting nor will I ever get a twitter account, but facebook gets two thumbs up with me.

Have you see our iRV2.com Facebook page? That's starting to get quite a few friends.

Yep... we've been using Facebook since we started full timing a year ago. A great way to keep track of friends and family and share photos of our travels.

Skype video calls are the best way we've found to stay as close as we can to the grandbabies too. It's free and wonderful to see them "face to face" often.

DriVer, thanks for the tip, I became a friend of the iRV2 facebook page. You are right, lots of traffic going on there and the friend count is climbing very fast. So far, I am still finding facebook to be a good tool for finding people and then being able to stay in touch; so far nothing negative to say about the software of service. Thanks for the positive feedback and the iRV2 suggestion.

Like to keep up with friends and family through FB. Over the years have lost contact with some of my school friends and it's great to find them again. Just became a friend of IRV2 FB page.

Facebook is a great way to keep in touch with family and friends, share pictures and hook up with other RV friends. It is also easy to get "hooked" and spend more time online than you had planned!

We both use FB every day...both on our computers and our phones. It's how we stay up to date with all our extended family plus our friends. It's a great way to connect with everyone. We've both connected with lost relatives, former co-workers, school chums, etc.

I'm still a hold-out on this one. My biggest fear is that I will become like a friend I have who practically runs to the computer the minute she walks in the door to check her facebook page.
Between doing all of my business on-line, visiting forums, maintaining a blog, keeping up with hometown news, and staying in touch via email, my computer and I already have a relationship that borders on addiction. I can still walk away easily and prefer face time to computer time. But I know myself well enough to know to be afraid . Has it sucked anyone in and not spit them back out?
