Full-timing and taxes

My wife and I are contemplating become full-timers. We would be spending 3 days near where my wife works and 4 days where her father lives. He's getting up there in age and my wife wants to be near. We're thinking real hard about buying a new or near new motorhome. If we do, that will be our only residence and I'm curious if I can write any of my MH expenses off on my taxes.

I belive this understanding is incorrect. Check the definition of a home with the IRS or you can actually call them.

I have claimed my boat as my primary home and my RV as my secondary, since I sold my sticks and bricks.

Their both old and the boat is paid for, so it doesn't add up to much but my tax guy says it's OK.

That is also my understanding. To qualify as a residence, an RV or boat needs to have facilities for sleeping, cooking and toilet. We deducted the interest on our motorhome for 1 year as a second home then for almost 9 more years after we went full time as our primary residence.
