This is somewhat related to a topic of almost the same subject:
A different way to go full-time - living locally ?

However this thread is regarding me considering this. I actually thought of this before I read the other topic.

Anyhoo, I'm 25 years old, disabled and currently still live with my mother (who i'm pretty much supporting finacially 90%). However I finally got enough courage to get my drivers license last year and also bought a '97 E150 conversion van (low/normal top) and since also have bought 67 shasta TT.

I'm now considering finding a local RV park that will allow an older TT like this on a monthly basis. I will end up several hundred dollars ahead per month vs living here. My mom will put under great financially stress but that's kind of her problem more than mine due to her rath poor spending habits and zero saving habits.

Right now I'm paying $600 a month for her mortgage plus utilities (electric, gas, water, cable tv/cable internet; internet is mostly my expense but she uses it a bit too) plus my own two bills of car insurance and cellular. By the time all of those things are paid I'm nearly broke every month. She sometimes pays the water bill, maybe every 3-4 months (about $50).

She gets groceries on food stamps and some cash and buys a few other items such as laundry soap and toilet paper but that's about it.

I figure I can get my monthly expenses down to around $450 for an RV spot, propane for a month (assuming I consume 40lbs in a month just for a range; I have two 40lb tanks), a storage unit to store some of my stuff and also to do ebay out of (I do ebay some to help suppliment my current living situation, which i may continue to do). Internet is probably going to me my main problem unless I find a park with WiFi so that's something to consider. Sadly, Sprint doesn't have wireless broadband service here (only a few select metro ares do) or I could get that for $60/month unlimited.

My ultimate goal is to full-time on the road but in the meantime I think it might be a wise choice to park it at a local RV park and live out of it while I save up some money for the road.

The RV park I'm considering seems to lack WiFi however they have a year-round indoor heated pool (in a large gas dome structure) and exercise equipment. It's a former Howard Johnson from long ago a friend told me. The former motel rooms are now senior apartments. For part of the lot (maybe some of the motel was torn down?) is the RV park, and there is also a restraunt. The price there is $250 which really isn't too bad for the ammenities. Oh yes, it's also an electronically gated community so it has some security in place as well. The pool is what most interests me to it, but also it's in a very convient location compared to most RV parks around here that are way out in the country (except the KOA which is too expensive I'm sure, if they even do monthly rates..).
