We are close to becoming full timers in our Motorhome and have heard that the Escapees are a good group to join and use out of Texas. We are currently Texas residents and wish to keep it that way. It looks like the Escapees is a good way to establish an address but how is their mail forwarding?? Do quite a few of you use them??

Escapees is excellent.
They are the #1 RV club in supporting RVers, especially fulltimers.
Many use their mail forwarding service.

We were TX residents and are still via the Escapees and have used the mail service for just over 3 years now. No complaints, plenty of kudos for their service and versatility.
They will forward regularly for you, like weekly if you are at some particular spot. On the other hand, we travel and are rarely at a spot for longer than a couple of weeks. We just send them an email or make a phone call about once a month and give them an address...usually general delivery of someplace we are going to be and within 2 to 3 days our mail is there. Most of our bills are delivered electronically, so not much we are waiting on vial snail mail.
If you will be travelers, you will learn to judge where it is appropriate to forward mail and where not. We are now in Mexico and have been here since mid November. On our way out now toward Tucson and expect this mail delivery to take a truck!

I'll second, third, fourth, etc., the recommendations for Escapees. IMHO there simply is no other firm that gives the service that Escapees does - not only the mail service, but the fact that the address you have is a LEGAL address that has been adjudicated through the courts and enacted into law in the state of Texas; Escapees were founded by fulltimers (3rd generation now at the helm of the company); there are Escapee parks across the country as well as Co-Ops that only Escapees can join; they do at least one big rally (~700+ RIGS) each year with great seminars, etc., and they have the CARE center, which is, in effect an assisted living facility for those who want to live in their rigs but can no longer do everything for themselves. It is truly unique and speaks to the whole organization and its members.

Been using SKP mail service for about 13 years now, only had one problem and that was with the US Post Office many years ago. Go for it!

Well thanks all. We are now full-timers for the last ten days and we are SKPs using the Escapee's mail service. We closed on the stick house today so we are officially, what most would consider, homeless.

You're not homeless, you're houseless. You have your home, it just happens to move down the highway WITH you.

Thanks Barbaraok,
We love the idea and so far are having a good time. We're still in the organizing stage and figuring out what we brought with us that we really don't need, putting a few stickup lights in the dark cabinets, etc. I had a small celebration when I paid the last electric bill on the house and enjoy looking at the bill section of my MicroSoft Money program now! The homeless comment came from the looks and comments we get from some of our friends. It's fun to watch the facial expressions of people when one tells them what we are doing.
