Grease Disposal ???

What do you do with the grease, once you’re done cooking?

The sink doesn’t have a garbage disposal. Do you just put it in some sort of container, then put it in the trash?

Even with a disposal I wouldn't put any grease down a drain. We always wiped our dishes, fry pans, pots with a used napkin or damp paper towel before doing dishes. Saves a lot of crude going into your holding tank.

If you have a lot of grease, let it cool and pour in a can, jar or even a paper cup before putting it into the trash. Wash out and save some for future use.

We usually have a small paper bowl to dump the grease then toss the whole thing in the camp fire

My addiction to peanut butter solves that problem. We keep an empty container on hand just for grease disposal.
You may discover you will be cooking more on an outdoor gas or charcoal grill or even a campfire. (Nothing like a campfire cooked steak or chop.)

THIS!
We don't ever want 'crude' going into our tanks, , but we do watch the crud going down into the gray tank also.
Just jar up grease and dispose as others mentioned.

dish water

We wash dishes in a "bucket" in the sink and dump the water down the toilet rather than down the sink. It keeps the grey tank from filling as quickly and the soapy water sloshing around in the black tank helps keep it clean.

Save in a can, put in the used kitty litter when disposing.

Collect in a can, in the fridge (so it solidifies), and out with the trash.

I will carry the cooking pan over to our sewer hook up, remove the elbow and pour the grease directly into the sewer line. As a camp host, I discourage burning food in the fire pits which will attract animals that smell the burn't food.

Why has everyone got so much grease? Obviously you don't have anyone in the family with cardiovascular disease. A dab of olive oil goes a long way and can be wiped up with a paper towel into the trash.

Never put grease down a drain. Even in a home. In time grease can get as hard as a brick and the narrowing of the pipes means have to snake it out.

We let the grease cool then put it into plastic jars, or we let it solidify and scrape it into the trash.

The grease I'm talking about comes from hamburger, pot roast, and crock pot chicken. The wife will not make gravy which she considers forbidden food. Darn it!!

I like to throw it under the neighbors RV for the raccoons that come out at night.

We haven't had ground beef in about 40 years - use ground turkey instead. Between my bad gall bladder and DH assorted problems, it is only very lean beef maybe once a month, no pork, chicken breasts/thighs that are grilled, and fish. And then only 3 oz portions of proteins allowed. No salt, no sugar - but at least we still can have a glass a wine in the evening.
