Having a CCW has nothing to do with purchasing a hand gun. In SD, you walk into a store, pick the gun you want, fill out the paperwork, pay your money, and walk out with your purchase.

This summer, I did what I posted in #29 at two different stores in two different cities. At no time was I asked for a CCW and when I volunteered the fact that I do have one, the clerk said it didn't make any difference.

Looks like you'll be able to legally carry across state lines, (Except Illinois and D.C.). Passed in the house, going to the Senate.

That varies by state, here in WA there's a waiting period unless you have a CPL (Concealed Pistol License). And I believe that every sale at a FFL has to be checked through NICS unless your state has a waver. WA just got theirs but you have to have a CPL issued after July 2011 as I remember.
