How many rigs have you had full timing?

Just wondering how many have changed their rigs out? Too small and ran out of space? Went from 5th wheel to motor home? etc.

Appreciate anyone sharing their experiences.

Steve

We bought our coach in 2003, started fulltiming in it in mid-2005, and are still in it after apx 65k miles. We just bought a house and will be traveling about 1/2 time now. Since we bought our coach, we have looked at lots of other rigs at RV shows, etc and have seen only one that slightly tempted us so I guess we bought the right rig for us to start with!!

We are on our second coach after 4 years. Our first, a 40', was great and we fully enjoyed it for 3 years. However, when a great deal on a 43' with all the features we wanted presented it self, the decision to move up was easy to make. Still, the 40' filled all our needs -- but the 43' meets our wants!

Unless I hit it big time this one is it. It is the only one I have owned. I have been slowly modifying it and it is not yet the way I want it. Why would I want another one?

We bought HOWIE ( House On Wheels Includes Everything ) new in July 02, 110k miles on him in the 9.5 years. Always looking at new coaches, but they don't have anything that he doesn't. He's a HR Endeavor, 40DST, bath and a half model. We tow an 04 Trailblazer.

Started with a 1963 VW bus. I cut out the wall that seperated the drivers area from the back, and added a bed and sink with a wter tank and hand pump. Loved that little homemade camper. 2yrs.

Moved on to a 1/2 ton Chevy truck with an 8 ft camper, no toilet. 2yrs.

Then a 1-ton Chevy dually with a 12 1/2ft camper with toilet and shower. Saw all of the western states in that one. 2yrs.

Moved up to a 22ft LazyDaze class C. Great motorhome. 2yrs.

Now live in a 32ft Bounder, which is perfect for me. Had this one for 1 1/2 yrs, and plan on fulltiming in it when I retire in 3yrs, 2mo, 2wks, 1day, 13hrs, 32min, 27seconds.....but who's counting anyway???

We don't full time YET. But having been on the road for 10K miles and 3 months in our current 37 footer, I don't think we would need any larger. For 2 of us, I think we could get by with a 34 footer for FT. That would allow us to get into a few places that were too tight for the 37.

Have had 2, a SunnyBrook 391SUT that we lived in full time for 3 years but we owned it for over 7 years. This year we purchased a NuWa Discover America 355CK. Towing all those toys around was pretty stressful for us. We wanted a more residential type RV. In the toy hauler, we did not have any room for company. If we want to ride a motorcycle, we can rent one or we can park the RV and pick up the Harley and take a road trip.

Started in 1997 with a 30 foot 5th wheel with two slide-outs. In December 2003 we went to a Bounder 35E, and we are still in it and very happy with it.......Jim

While we've had other RVs, we've only had 2 that we've fulltimed in, both fifth wheels.

We have been RVing more than 35 yrs. The last 10 yrs or so we were about half time and we are in our second year of full timing. Our current 2005 Itasca Horizon (40 ft) is our 10th motorhome. We looked at replacing the Horizon but decided to upgrade the current rig instead.

We had a beautiful Winnebago 34 ft Journey DL, but just not big enough. Got our 2006 Monaco Camelot,40 ft and love it. Dec 24th we left our home of 33 years to live in our MH and to travel. What an adjustment we are having now, but the year is shaping up with great plans. San Diego, Yellowstone, Las Vegas, North Ca. Oregon.... ? Gotta do so fly fishing in Montana this summer.
