Congratulations on being houseless!! We are 1 yr. into our 5 yr. plan to become houseless as well. I'm finding out that this is the year to consider all the "whens", "ifs", "whats", "wheres", etc. This forum has helped make answering all those questions much easier. The hard part will be starting soon. We are going to start getting rid of things this summer. It's hard to imagine getting rid of some things when we still have about 4 more yrs. in the house, but I think it might actually be fun!

Another thing we've been doing since we made the big decision is looking at RVs. We currently have a 33 ft. TT that we use about once a month. Mostly long weekend, but at least 2 weeklong trips a yr. We are looking at either a 5r or a Class A for full-timing. We LOVE going to RV Shows and looking at all the different floor plans. If you have any suggestions, throw them our way! Enjoy your new lifestyle! Keep us posted on how you're doing.

I don't know about others but we have found that we are finding a difference in camping and fulltiming in the space at hand. Filing the important papers is a pain. I know we can do some eltronically but my wife prefers paper. Online banking is easy and we have been doing this for quite a while. Being self sufficient on the road is a good thing mentally but challenging as far as things.

I've had to reaquire some of my tools I thought I would not need. I am a DIY person and have to tinker to be happy. Pictures are a problem for us as well. We have no brothers or sisters, we have no children. We are going through a ton of photos and sending our friends a lot of them. Most of the pics are of traveling and such. We are determined to NOT have a self storage bill!

We have overcome and achieved a lot in a short time of fulltiming. Being a CG Host from March 1st till December 1st is really been a big help! This has given us a chance to adjust ourselves and the camper while sitting still! This has been a blessing and a surprise. We have moved stuff around in cabinets and in the basement compartments as well. This makes life a little easier because of the "camping and living" difference!

Last year we took a three month trip as a "last chance to change our minds" and to make sure we were doing the right thing with our lives. About two months out we were in Polson, Mt. and I asked my wife if she missed our home........she replied that she WAS at home!

This is right for us and we know this.

Congratulations. Sounds like you made the right decision. On your way to your new post in South Dakota, if you need a place to spend a night in SE SD, we have a spot with full hook-ups that you are welcome to use.
Bests of luck and enjoy.

We're newbies at this but one of the many little things we overlooked was several catalogs (Jegs,Summit racing and others) that now I don't need to be mailed anymore. I know this is small details but something to be done. We are completely paperless with banks, MH,toad insurance and so on. Everything is done online to save the clutter in the coach.

Sounds like a great way to start out. We're still 2 years away but listening and learning everything we can. And we'll be at Tanglewood for a week in June!

First, welcome to a great Forum! Second, let us know when you arrive! We're on site 47. Have you been here before? Sites 38-44 are the best.

Yay! We have site 42. Never been there before but DH is in Winston frequently for work and that trip I'm going along. He'll still have to go to work everyday but at least we'll be in the same state.
