MSN Article - Can you live in an RV full time?
Interesting article but there were a couple things that made me go HMMMM?
Can you live in an RV full time? - - MSN Money
One particular item:
To keep your electric bill down, avoid staying in one place for months, because long-term campers usually have to pay for their own electricity.
"Stay for less than a month, and they pay the electric bill," she says. Even when the Hugginses do pay for electricity, it's pretty inexpensive: about $40 per month, or $80 a month if it's cold and the electric heaters go on.
That seems counter intuitive to me. I would think that if you pay for a CG that includes electricity then NORMALLY you will pay more for a given period of time compared to if you pay a lower CG fee and then pay your own electricity.
I think the author of the article may have tried to over simplify some issues. I also think the issue of establishing domicile in any state was a bit too thin on that subject.
Thoughts?

I wouod guess editing came nto play a lot.
Still, i'd love to full time, and there is nothing in that article giving any kind of negative.

Jim...anything to get out of IL! LOL
Yes, editing can make or break an article. I didn't find anything discouraging but it did gloss over some things a bit too much.

The article has actually first posted on the 15th but it finally percolated up to a headliner. I posted a comment to the thread on that same date at 9:27 pm.
And, yes there are some problems with the article.

I thought it was a nice little "introductory" article but you're right about glossing over a lot... and that electricity usage thing makes no sense to me at all. Monthly rates are usually a LOT cheaper than weekly rates even if you do have to pay for electric.
One of the things they glossed over IMO is the need for both parties to really WANT to do it... and to really LIKE each other. As she said, you're living in <400 sq ft and it can get pretty tight for some relationships after a while.

Interesting what some can write about something they have no clue. Lack of research. Oh well!
