Need Dental Insurance for Seniors
My wife's dental insurance ends this year and she needs to continue coverage because of a mouth full of "bad" teeth (crowns). Has anyone found a good solution for this problem? Appreciate any help!

Our Medicare Advantage plan through Humana offers a reasonable dental policy. Might check with your carrier and see if they offer anything.

I think once you sit down and look at what the premiums will cost you, the deductibles and co-pays involved and the maximum coverage provided, you will probably find you'll be money ahead by fully self insuring.

That's what we decided. Just set money aside and when needed, it was there. That said, I had all of my old silver fillings replaced BEFORE we went fulltiming as the type of filling will usually swell and crack teeth.
BTW - if near a town with a college that has a dental hygiene degree program, good place to get your teeth cleaned.

I got a Humana One dental plan for $15/mo when I started it. It's gone up to $19 but still well worth it. Very low cost but there is a 6mo waiting period for most things. Pretty good network of dentists for twice a year checkups, basic xrays and cleanings for free.

Los Algodones, Mexico (across from Yuma, Arizona) caters to seniors for medical, dental, optical and pharmaceutical needs. We have been there several times and it is perfectly safe. Everyone who has used the dental services has been thrilled with the results. We buy our prescriptions there.
