We are proud owners of a 42.5' 2005 Beaver Patroit Thunder. So many 1st times to look forward to
We will fly to CA from MD in a couple weeks & drive our coach back to Maryland.
Will standard KS sheets fit the KS bed in our coach?
What would you ship or pack to bring for the maiden trip?
What type of plates, cups etc...should we plan to buy (eventully)
Any other tips would be great...I love IRV2, so many nice people and resources

Personally since you have to buy it anyhow, simply fly out, and once you have the coach in hand go to the local mall and Walmart and buy what you need. We use Corel for dishes, plastic glasses and regular Corel coffee cups. So walmart, buy towels, Corel, silverware and knife set. Penny's for sheets, maybe towels. Grocery store to stock up on food and spices. One day and you will be good to go.
OOPS, forgot to mention most larger WalMarts also have black tank chemicals, fresh water hoses, TP and most everything else you will need for the drive home.

Hi, congratulations on your new coach. When my wife and I started setting up of new to us coach the advice we took with us was If it's in your house you will want some version of it in your coach. We bought Correll(?) dishes(Corning Ware), light and durable. Pot's and Pans at Winners, they have quality kitchen stuff at bargain prices. What you take or ship out would depend on if your camping back to MD or dead-heading back. When we brought or coach home from Montreal it had already been winterized so we just dead headed home and stayed in hotels for the two nights it took to get home, therefore we really needed nothing, on the other hand if your camping back you will need the basics, maybe think about paper plates and the like till you get it home and you can then take your time.
All the best and Happy Motoring.

Maybe. It depends on what size your "king" is. We have a king bed in our fifth wheel, but it is only 72" side rather than the regular (I think) 75" wide. While regular king size sheets will work, we'd have to use "garder belts" on each of the 4 corners to help keep the bottom fitted sheet tight enough (for me). Thus, we've special-ordered sheets for our particular king...expensive, but better than a too-large fitted sheet that bunches up underneath you.

Congratulations on your purchase!
As far as furnishing the coach, just start making a list of what you use day to day at home. Pretty much anything you need will be available at Wally World. Plan on a stop at a Camping World for the RV gadget type stuff. The sheets will probably be a standard fit, usually an RV size is a bit shorter and a little less width.
Paper plates, plastic utensils and plastic cups will get you started but you will end up needing coffee mugs, cookware, bakeware and serving pieces too.
Have you or are you going to, have a good thorough inspection on the coach before you sign the dotted line? Hopefully you will have all the owners manuals and maintenance records for the unit also.
Have fun, take your time learning about your coach and how it drives and be careful on the road.
Barb

Congrats on the purchase of the new to you coach and hope you enjoy your drive home. Sounds like you've gotten some pretty good advice so far and seems pretty complete. There's always something you'll think of to add I'm sure. Be safe and Happy Motoring!!!!

Congratulations…..Bought mine in April and Oh this was the fun part for me like setting up a play house as a child. My queen bed uses standard queen sheets but do not know about the king. My sheets are the same as in our house 400 tread count. We can't stand hard sheets. I use thin towels and wash cloths even with our WD combo, just easier to dry. I would not worry about stocking anything until you own the coach and are driving it home. Paper and plastic will do for a while. Corelle are the dishes of most RVers. If you pass an outlet mall with a Corning store they have so many pattern selections that should match your décor. A bigger to me was having the cookware stack tight. Wearever (sp) with the metal handle with a dip fit to nicely and do not rattle. I bought the set at Wal-Mart.
Camping World has grills that fold, so much stuff there……Good luck and enjoy.

As for TP, any that says Septic Safe should be good. Don't hurt yourself with the cardboard stuff they try to pass off as RV TP.
Go to whichever store you want to and buy what you want to use in your house.

I made the mistake of trying to anticipate what I would need for the 800 mile drive home and packed and (lugged thru the airport) a large heavy suitcase. How I wish I had only packed what I would have needed to stay in a hotel plus a sleeping bag and my pillow.
I bought stuff that I have never used and ended up stopping at Walmart on the way home anyway. You'll figure out what you need as you go.
Congrats and enjoy!

Depending on what the sellers are doing, getting our of RVing, bought newer, inherited, etc. you may find many things still in the MH that you'll need. Sewer hoses, water hoses, electrical adapters, etc.
The best part is that there is a WalMart in just about every little town and burg you'll come across and they will have something to get you by, and probably have room to park your rig while you shop.

Start slow on replicating what you have at home, otherwise you will quickly run out of space.
