All my posts to date have been in the RV Systems & Appliances section but I had to post this one for those that might like something a little different when visiting the Branson, MO area.

Went for a Sunday drive with our friends Dave & Nancy, our destination, Copper Run Distillery in Walnut Shade, not far from Branson. This is situated in the beautiful rolling countryside of the Ozarks on a picturesque rural road and is the site of the Owner & Chief Distiller's Great Grand Parents farm where Jim Blansit grew up.

Upon entering their new tasting room we were greeted by Jim's smiling face welcoming us and offering tastings of Copper Run's Vodka, Rum and Sour Mash Whiskey. (and yes. . . it is real moonshire and very smoooooth).
We were then invited to take a tour of the downstairs distillery, the centerpiece being CR's copper still and the racks containing many large oak barrels where they are aging the sour mash into Bourbon.
If you like a Margarita from time to time, take the time and have one of theirs out on their shaded back porch overlooking a hardwood hollow. It's one of the best I've ever had!

You can view their website here, I don't think you'll be disappointed.
Copper Run was literally built by the Blansit family right down to the Organic Apple Butter made by Jim's Mother.
Hope to See You Out There, Mike

Looks like a great place, thanks for the info. I've filed it away for future reference.

We did part of the Kentucky Bourbon Tour near Louisville this past summer and loved it.
