We are becoming full-time RVers. We are looking for places to stay during the winter months. We would appreciate any information/ syggestions on places to stay, as well as places "not to stay".

I see you are in Mobile.
My wife and I are in Gulf Shores and going full time just before christmas.
Really most people are coming here in winter.
If you want to stay local, try the coe parks in coffeeville and clairborne.

We are going to Big Bend Texas and then points west.
Best regards

We spent last winter in the Mesa/Tempe, AZ area. Lots of RV Resorts that take Passport and the weather was to die for! Fantastic!
This winter we are going to try South East Texas on the Gulf. If we don't like it we're going back to Mesa/Tempe.
Good Luck!

Guess it depends pretty much on what you like to do ..... You might look into Riverside RV Resort in Port Charlotte ... lots of craft classes, fishing fresh and salt .... etc.

For the best value I would suggest thr Texas Rio Grande Valley. Lots of parks at any price range. Many activites in the valley and most of all you will be welcomed as winter Texans, not snowbirds.
Well worth checking out.

Skeetshooter is so right. We have been here in Sonora, Texas since the 1st of November working at the Caverns of Sonora. We already feel like family. People in this part of Texas just open their arms and welcome you in.

I should mention that we lived in El Paso for 8 years back in the 70s and I swore I would NEVER return to Texas. Well, we registered the rig last week and now we are new residents!
