Figure about $45 to $50 a night. Monthly could be cheaper depending on the location.

Where are you located?
Living in an RV in cold country is not fun nor cheap.

Are you handy at fixing things?
RV's break...that's why this forum is so popular.

Good luck on your endeavor!!!
Yea I was thinking that, but I dont have a truck to rent a 5th wheel, which is what I plan on getting. Any ideas?

I thought RV parks were in the $10-$30 range? Is this false info I've been getting?

I'm in the SW, and can move with the weather, but will likely be in SOME cold along the way. I assume you're talking about heating? or is there other things to consider?

I'd like to SAY I am. But would need some sort of instructions or guide. So long as it's fairly simple, I'm confident I'll make due.
Thanks!

YES! tow breaks, electrical and these things are what I'm looking for as far as added expenses -anything else come to mind? I was expecting around that 10k number, nice to know I'll likely need more. I actually just started looking into getting a pro inspection, and yea totally worth getting. Thanks a ton.

RV parks are WAY more than $10 - $30 a night, you'll not often find those rates.
Go to RVPARKY.COM and enter an area you're interested in, then look at the rates of the parks found. I think you're in for a surprise on nightly rates.
It will help a lot that you'll likely be staying on casino property, but even then you'll need to find places to dump holding tanks and refill the onboard fresh water.
Good luck with your endeavor, I hope it works out the way you'd like it to!

You will find those $10-$30 a night rates if you are in state parks (most in the $25+ range) National parks, NFS, City or County parks or COE sites. Private camp grounds and resorts start at $40 and go up from there with out any discounts you may have (Good Sam, Passport America and such).
All in we probably average $35-$40 a night but we do lots of park camping and actually try to avoid the "resorts"

If you stay a month in an RV park, it can bring the$/day down, but plan on a minimum of $30/night at a private RV park. Some are much more.

You can rent a class C pretty easy. It will give you a real feel for what you wnat and DON'T want. $300 to $500 a week.

If you are a member of the Elks you can stay at their RV parks for $20 to $30 a night. No long term though, usually a week or two max.

Camping in cold weather presents heating problems and water line freezing problems.

Believe me you will become a skilled repair person. Comes with the territory.

There are RV parks where you can stay for free if you also work there. You may want to check on that and work around your dealers schedule.

1. Watch every youtube video you can find on fulltime rving. Skip the picturesque travelogues and hone in on the ones titled BrokeDown Again, Got a Flat, or just Oh No! Also, which rv should you buy, how to choose an rv, etc.

2. I don't know any solo travelers who choose a fifth wheel. Most choose a class b or small class c, mostly because you can back those up alone, usually without taking out a tree or power post. Just easier to manage alone, and cheaper fuel wise.

3. Read this forum. Most every problem that can arise has been addressed, and there are many 'how do i go fulltime' threads on here which discuss insurance, domicile, finding campgrounds, doctors, etc.

4. Don't feel bad. Most all of us started thinking about this before we had any idea of what it would entail. Do your research. If you see an rv you like, go to that owners' forum here and see what problems current owners have with their rigs. You're better off with an older, quality rig than a newer, cheaply or poorly constructed rig.

Good Luck!
