We are also retired and in "no big hurry", and my W/D and vacuum are "my best friends"....ask my DH. After raising 4 children and taking care of various other children, I feel I have earned the right to use my time in more productive ways and doing laundry by hand is not one of them.....so "different strokes for different folks" as the saying goes.

That is exactly it...no one said that you should do your laundry by hand. Different strokes for different folks is absolutely true. Also, how about we can disagree without being disagreeable. I understand you have raised your children, as we have also. Taken care of elderly parents, etc. The only problem I had with you was your condescending comments. Thanks for being more polite this time. Have a wonderful life on the road as we hope to.

Picking up a Used 06 KOTR, the W/D area has full hook ups, two black tubes side by side with one having a cap on it that reads Vent Tube. The other has no cap so I figure it is water drain like in a home. I asked my sales person about the other if it was for dryer and he said the dryer vent would be outside and it is not. Told me it is non vented. I think he is wrong but since I have never had a WD in unit before I need an expert to advise. What else would that tube be there for? And why would it be right next to the drain tube? I think we both expected dryer exhaust ports to be larger like the ones in your home but after reading previous posts for single contained units expel air through the drain hose, perhaps they are smaller in size.
And the owners manuals for this unit are no where to be found. Perhaps I am wrong. Please advise. I think we are going with a Stacked unit if you have a brand you recommend also advise. I heard LG makes one but it produces a lot of vibration on the review I read. Thanks Jim & Trina

In our last 2 coaches both less than 34', we didn't have the available room for a W/D. But now with 42', residential fridge, king sized bed, bath and a half, it just seemed right to have the stacked W/D. You know the old saying, you can't miss what you've never had, and that was true for us. But now that we have had it for a while we wouldn't be without it.

I do remember many times trying to use the machines at the park, and all of them being used, or were down mechanical. When at a place that isn't close to a laundry mat, you are pretty much going to be standing in line, and awaiting while you could be out discovering!
