IMO, by definition, full-timing means you live in your RV full time. Having a mobile home or park model in a permanent location would make you a part-timer or extended-timer. There's nothing wrong with that, if that is your preference. A lot of people have a park model, mobile home, or even a stick house and travel part time.

IMHO, there is no "best" way.
Whatever suits one may not suit another.

The best is whatever you like. If you like to have someplace that you call home and feel that you can't stay in your traveling rig 24/7 then do it. As said though you wouldn't be a fulltiming and thats not a bad thing either.

For us, a mobile home or stick house or condo or whatever somewhere would just be something else to worry about and to spend money on for maintenance, utilities, tax, etc. We "stored" most of our funiture with three children, and put a small amount of stuff in a relatively secure climate-controlled commercial storage facility. That works "best" for us as the DW refused to get rid of some of the "stuff." If it were just me, we would have far less stuff in storage, or none at all, or maybe just a few boxes in the attic of one our children's homes.

We've spent tons of $$ on storage of our "stuff" that the kids didn't want, but we couldn't get rid of ourselves. That was 2 1/2 years ago. We are on our way to sell, donate, and give away all that "stuff" we've paid to keep. Now, the DW is not happy about it, but it was her decision because she could see the "stuff" wasn't worth another year's fee, and we don't see a stick house or apartment for quite a few years.

Yep!! We have had a storage place since We went fulltiming. That was 1996!! Now that we have our home almost finished, We are wanting to sell it and get a park model somewhere in N.M. As this fuel has kept going up, It takes all the extra income to just fill the tank!! Not to sure where in N.M., but have some areas we want to check out. I want a workshop we can do our hobby's in and a place to tinker around in. maybe Carlsbad!! Not the plan we had in mind..but have to be realistic.
Anyway we have been fulltimers for 12 years so we have seen most of the country! If I can't find a buyer I will take the wheels of and set it up on blocks and seal the engine and skirt the home all around. My trailer can be turned into a workshop easy enough.
Like I said, Not the original plan but....
