Questions regarding S Dakota domicile

We have chosen to use Escapees S Dakota address for our domicile. I see the residency affidavit form to be completed on Escapees website.

Understanding we need to stay overnight to complete some of the process, how do folks do this during the winter, with the freezing temps out there now?

Is there a grace period to appear at a S Dakota DMV to get drivers licenses, or must it be completed shortly after we no longer own a stick & bricks home?

This is an exciting time; our home will probably be sold in the next couple of weeks, much to do. Fortunately we have been downsizing for about a year.

Thanks so much for your help.

Have you considered driving a car there or flying there and spending the night in a motel?

It depends. If the house sells and you are ready to do the change and the weather is amenable then take the RV. If not the motels are warm. You might also be able to get a mail forwarding service going before you officially move to the new state. I would check out that option as well.
