Hello!
While you're in a city you find some minor or important repairs to be done, how do you go about to find a reliable mobile help?
Does one go to the chamber of commerce, the input from the RV Park you're staying with or how do fulltimers deal with it? Many thanks for your input!!! araucano.

If it is a mnior repair I very likely do it myself.. For example the joke today is I'm doing a little light repair on my motor home.... Specifically I'm fixing the lense on the "Service side" porch light (Get the joke)

For bigger jobs I usually talk to the folks around me. Hopefully I'll be close to Flint, MI if it's summer time.... I know a good technician there.

But short of tearing down the engine or jobs that require special tools.. I'm kind of good at repair work.

I will be fulltiming next year. I do all of my own repairs now, but realize that won't be practical on the road. I think I will opt for the mobile repair also. A couple of reasons, the first being that I don't have to take it to a shop and wait for them to get to it. The second is, that I can oversee their work and I know what I am getting. I am hoping that a mobile guy might be a little better of a tech as he owns his own business and may see some benefit in doing it right the first time. It looks like a service call is about $35 dollars, so it is a little more expensive when you figure in the actual repairs on top of the service call, but may be worth it.

I guess we've been lucky as we've had to rely on mobile repair and shops as we travel. Not had one bad experience. I keep their number handy incase we need them the next time we are in their area. We have asked at camp grounds for referrals also.

Rv service reviews is a good site to look for a shop. If clicking below does not work google it.

If we are at a campground I'll usually ask them if they recommend anybody. If I am on the road I'll call Workhorse (Chassis MFR) or Tiffin for their recommendations for the area we are in.

Most of the minor things I'll fix myself since I carry a well stocked tool chest.

I am another one for rv Sevice Reviews. Also do a topic search on many rv forums and see what has been said if anything. Also some forums are starting to have service review sections too. Then there is always asking local. Then factory authorized service centers.
