Reconsider going to Mexico...yesterday was Welcome Back Winter Texans in Nuevo Progresso...there was a shoot out on the Progresso Bride. We like going there to see the people and sample the local restaurants. No plans now. A friend of ours said that there were very few vendors and few locals on the main street yesterday. Maybe they knew something was up. Just FYI. Heres a link:

Nearly all RV parks keep a few spaces open for short-term folks, ie: a week or less. We never make reservations, we just arrive and phone around to find a short-term site. Then we look around for an RV park we like. I find this website useful: http://rv-rgv.com/

Since the shootings, we have been to Progreso three times for DW's dental work. Everything is the same as last year... military is still right at the border.
