Sprint cell phone service

Hello, has anyone had recent experience using Sprint for their cell phones? We travel full-time and spend most of the year in AZ, CA, CO, SD, WY but will also be spending time on the East Coast. My concern is coverage for internet access. Thanks

Sprint does not have as good coverage as Verizon, especially if you are far away from the interstates or large cities. For me, this has not been an issue.

Depends if you plan to stay around bigger cities then Sprint may be ok. Verizon is best in the west. We even got service boondocking in the boonies on public lands.

Thanks for sharing. We have been with Verizon for the past 8 years and have been satisfied, other than for the cost. Sprint is offering essentially the same unlimited plan for 1/2 the price (for 55+ customers), the only question for us is coverage / service availability...

Out there, Cellular one and Verizon seem to be the best, followed by T-Mobile, then ATT which are close but T-Mobile is being more aggressive in adding towers.

We dropped Sprint over a year ago because of the poor coverage in the West. Parts of CO, AZ, NM had no coverage at all. We switched to ATT and much better.

I don't know if the prior posters in thread actually have used Sprint recently. The latest Sprint coverage maps don't have the huge dead areas for data service that Sprint had a few years ago. So, Sprint may not be best, but appears to be better than it used to be.

Didn't Sprint buy T-Mobile?

We changed to T-Mobile last summer because of cost. The 55+ plan is very good on the pocket book. We found that T-Mobile did not have the off the road coverage as did ATT. so we purchased an ATT internet only plan with 8 gb of data/mo for $300/yr using a phone we already had. Cheaper than 2 phones on ATT. Works for us.

If you each have phones many full-timers travel with two different carriers so that there's a good chance they're always covered.

Thanks everyone, taking everyone's comments into account as well as additional research, we decided to remain with Verizon, even if the cost is higher.
