Thermal, Dual or Double Pane Windows
When it comes to full-time traveling in the western states, are dual pane windows a must have?
We're going full-time in about 1.5 years, and will be buying a fifth wheel.
We're just starting to narrow the field of contenders and forming a short list of must have features.
Of the many RVs we've owned up until now, we've never opted for dual pane windows. Now that we're going full-time, would you put them on the must have list, and rule out trailers that aren't offered with them?

My last fiver had and current coach has dual pane , in any hot/cold area if you want to be comfortable you don't want to be without them .
They help keep heat in or out depending on the season.

Not only do they help with cold/heat, but also help to reduce noise from outside. I wouldn't buy a rig without them. To bad that our front windshield can't be dual pane - but that is one of the givens with a motorhome. You quickly learn how to cover them to reduce heat/cold coming in - - and when to remove coverings on cold mornings to help heat up the coach!

No, they are not a "must have". They are nice though.

Not if you chase 70 degrees. I have had both and will never have a coach without them. You won't find them in entry level RVs.

There was a time before these items were so available. I wonder how the species was even able to survive. 😉

Agree. You don't want an entry level RV if full-time. There is plenty of maintenance on these rigs, so quality matters (plus good insulation).

My parents full timed in the 80s. They had towels long the bottom of every window to soak up the water that condensed on those cold panes of glass.

Must have. Especially if full timing. You can chase the weather but it doesn't always cooperate.

Fulltimed in 3 rvs. First 2 had dual pane, current Renegade Verona did not offer them. Like others have indicated....no comparison.....will never get single pane again.

I agree. Two of my previous Class A motorhomes had dual pane windows. My current Class C has dual pane windows. It was a 'must have' when we were shopping for this one. I would not buy a motorhome without them.

I would never buy ANY rig for fulltiming without double-pane windows!
