We are looking for a tow dolly to tow our car behind us with the front two wheels off of the ground. Someone recommended a Demco Kar Kaddy SS because it folds up and that many RV spots wouldn't fit a 41 foot RV, car, and a full size tow dolly. Now I am hearing that most places will fit the RV, car, and regular tow dolly. Any thoughts on this size issue? Thanks.

I have pulled a tow dolly for the last 10 years and for over 50,000 miles and never had a problem with storage of the empty dolly. Campgrounds with tight sites will have another area for storage. It may be wise to put another hitch on your toad so you can drag around the empty tow dolly easier.

Make sure your car will fit on the tow dolly with plenty of room to spare. You can easily do body damage to the car by turning too sharply (I speak from experience!) as the tow dolly fenders will dig into your car fenders. We just switched to flat towing which entails a whole different set of problems!

I used to use a dolly (that didn't fold), and most of the time was able to park it behind the motorhome, sometimes with the tongue of the dolly tucked under the motorhome and other times on the hitch ready for towing (in back-in sites I normally pushed it there by hand). Once or twice I had to figure out another place to park the dolly.

Good tip about car fit. I towed a full-size '67 Ford pickup on mine a few times and rubbed blue paint off the dolly fenders on the pickup bumper when the dolly bed pivoted slightly in turns. It was high enough for the body to clear the fenders except for the bumper.

The folding dolly is neat, especially if you store it sometimes and have limited storage space. Having some sort of brakes on the dolly would be a higher priority for me!!

Thanks you two. I'm trying to figure out if the Demco is worth the extra almost $1000.
