What's your favorite RV park and location, and why?

My wife and I are planning on going full-time and currently doing our research. One of the fun things to research are locations to visit.

I will be working on the road and must have internet access. We'll be in a 43' toy hauler and will need full hookups, I know this will limit us from some locations. We plan on traveling through the U.S. and Canada.

What are your top 3 campgrounds or RV parks you've stayed at?
What are your top 3 locations you've visited?

thanks
Dan

We stay in a lot of military famcamps so you may or may not be able to stay in some of these but so far our favorites are.....in no particular order

Redstone Arsenal, Huntsville, AL

Sheilds Navy SeaBee Base, Gulfport, MS

Pecan Park Riverside, San Marcos, TX

As for favorite places: We like to find the off the beaten path places that are not necessarily on the tourist maps.

Muscle Shoals, AL. Here we not only found the recording studios the area is known for but also Helen Keller's childhood home and the world's only Coon dog cemetery

Gruene, TX. Gruene is a tiny town just north on I-35 from San Antonio. It has the oldest dance hall in Texas. Great music. The Gristmill is an old cotton gin they have turned into a restaurant. Good burgers and onion rings

Finally Frederickburg/Luckenbach, TX. Again small out of the way places that are hidden gems. Everyone knows the song for Luckenbach but the people working the store made it worth the drive. Frederickburg has the Pacific WWII museum which will take you a full day to explore.

There are the cities we enjoy like New Orleans, Memphis, Pensacola, on and on but these little places hold more memories for us.

First decide on the area and there will surely be a park in the vicinity so that you can explore.

We absolutely love west of the Mississippi although like the Gulf Shores, AL area, also.

Our favorite states are Arizona, Utah, Idaho, Colorado, Oregon, Montana and Alaska.

Top 3 parks. Chula Vista RV resort (here now), LVM in vegas, Tiger Run in Breckenridge.

Top 3 locations. Banff, Ave of the Giants, Gunnison, Co.

That was hard. So many great spots in 8 years.

We have a 2018 Road Warrior 427, about 45 foot, we do sometimes without full hookups. We are full-timers in our unit. Question is do you need full hookups or just want full hookups? Since we left Ohio October 28 we have had full hookup in almost every campground. But we have done some nights without but just used our portable dump tank.
We can carry 110 gallons of water so if need be we could probably go without water for some time also. We get to find out come next April as we are getting MCD shades installed at the factory. We are scheduled to be there for a week, so I get to see how we do for that week on water and sewer issues.

Favorite RV park wife really likes Lake Conroe, north of Houston.
As far as things to see really loved seeing The Hunley (Charleston SC), The Mighty 8th air force museum (Savannah Ga) and The WW2 Pacific War Museum in Fredericksburg Texas (went just yesterday) But this trip is NOT over yet, still plan on seeing more things and going to more parks, so the list may change.

Well...our top 3 CG's were so good we made video reviews of them, but in the end, we have chosen Conroe Thousand Trails Park as our home park and we return there every November/December to catch up on personal stuff and maintenance items to get ready for the next traveling year. We have made a lot of friends there and is without a doubt our favorite CG.

And BTW...wifi is great with no problems at Conroe Thousand Trails Park. It's 65 miles north of Houston, Tx.

So our top three so far would be:
1) Conroe Thousand Trails CG, Willis, Texas
2) Tropical Palms RV Resort, Kissimmee, Florida
3) Thousand Trails Hershey RV Park, in Lebanon, Pennsylvania

Mountain Valley Resort, Heber City Utah. Love they split the park into family and adults only.
Jackson Rancheria Resort in Jackson California, beautiful park.
Elkhorn Ridge Resort, Spearfish SD. Great location, lots to do in the area.
Polson Motorcoach Resort in Polson, MT would have made the list if they had a nice pool.
Every year Newmar publishes their annual resort guide and most of those are top notch, most of the rest of this year we’ll be in one of their listed resorts.
