Having seen and visited with the kids/grandkids, in-laws and out-laws, we are on the road again headed for Rapid City, SD. Will leave the Sacramento area tomorrow (monday) and head east on I-80 to Winnemucca, Rock Springs and Cheyenne, Wyoming and then north to RApid City with all plans of being there on Friday the 14th. Be there until October 15 when the cycle begins anew.

Pulled into Rapid City KOA yesterday (Friday) for the summer after spending two days in Cheyenne, Wyoming due to a snow and wind storm. Didn't last to long, just long enuf to be miserable. Now looking at a week of bad weather in the Black Hills.
Can't win

Left Rapid City on Oct 18th after a busy summer and came down thru Salt Lake City and Las Vegas and wound up here in Emerald Cove Resort in Earp, CA just across the river from Parker, AZ. Will be here until sometime in March. If it snows, all bets are off.

Figuring on Quartzite again in January and possiblly Yuma for a week or so.

Sure am surprised thats more full timers don't use this thread to let others know where they are at.

Jim, et.al.:

Well, we didn't make it to Rapid for a visit. Ended up taking our son back to F L O R I D A !! Yup, even though we thought we'd be in AZ. Maybe we'll get to meet ya for a visit next summer while we're back at Hart Ranch.

We WILL be heading to AZ BEFORE the February "oak pollen time" here in Florida.

Bye for now.

Hi Everyone. We've just left Canada. Came through the Canada/US border at Opheim at 9:00 a.m. this morning, October 29th. We are heading for Las Vegas for our son's Wedding on the 7th of November. Then hope to be somewhere around Hemet, CA for a month or two. Still debating returning to Florida where we spent last winter.

We are interested in good bike trails so if anyone knows of a Campground in California near some good bike trails do let us know here. Just recreational biking. We are both seniors and retired but like to bike for the exercise and the fun.

Its been awhile since anyone posted on this thread so I'll bring it back to the top with this one.

Have spent right at 6 months in and around Parker, AZ but it is starting to get a little warm and I don't plan on seeing the 100 degree days so we will be leaving Tuesday AM (4-3-12) and head back to Rapid City via Las Vegas, Salt Lake City then east on 80 to Rawlins, Wyoming and Caspar, WY then to Rapid City about the 8th.

Plan on opening the Rapid City KOA on the 15 and will be there for the season until Oct 15.

Pulled into Rapid City KOA about noon on the 6th. 4 days from AZ isn't too bad but a couple of long days for around 1300 miles.

After over 10 yrs of full timing, It is very easy to forget to close dump valves on the holding tanks especially when in a hurry. Lost the cap for the sewer line in Utah and as Valerie follows in the Isuzu, she seen the cap come off, get run over by the trailer tires and then her visiion went blurry as the mass of water and stuff covered her windshield. Couldn't get within rifle shot of the car due to the odor.

After setting up here in Rapid City, we had to have the obligatory hail and rain. Never fails.

Sounds like some bad luck with the sewer line Jim. HOpe you have that all cleaned up now.

We are in South Dakota. Travelled from our wintering spot in San Diego (Spent a little over a wonderful month there in February) to Yuma to Tucson to Tucumcari NM, to Nebraska City, NE to Sioux Falls, SD. We are on our way home to Saskatchewan via Winnipeg, Manitoba. We don't have to cross the border until at least April 15th so are dogging it waiting on warm weather on The Prairies. They've had snow and rain and ice this past week from The West. Alberta got a real dump of snow. My son in law reported they were snowed in at their Cabin near Red Deer on Thursday. They were out there looking after their horses and some new foals.

We are very happy with Sioux Falls except for the winds. Amazing Bike Trails here and the most beautiful of Parks, Falls Park, right in the center of the City. We hope to leave here on Wednesday and make the last trek of our winter journey through the border and into Canada on Thursday. Fingers crossed for nice weather.

Oh, and will be double checking the dumb valves!! Thanks for the reminder.

I am still boondocking in Quartzsite, enjoying the fine weather. The solar panel setup has been working great for the 191 days I have been here. The ATV'ing is great and I have found 1 2/3 ounces of gold on this season. I have to be on the watchout for snakes now that the weather has turned warmer. I have got six so far since they have came out, so the BBQ hasn't had much time to cool down.

Latter, Kevin

We just left Texas, after having spent the last 3 months volunteering at the Anahuac Wildlife Refuge. We are working our way north where we will be volunteering for 3 months at the DC Booth Fish Hatchery in Spearfish, SD. We're taking a little side trip to Missouri to visit the kids and grandkids for 3 weeks. We'll be in Spearfish from mid- June to mid-Sept.
