Working part time at the RV park!

The wife and I are close to full time, and have been researching parks that offer part time work for the free hook up and stay!
We'd be curious to know how many of you are actively doing this,,where you are now, best suggestions, tips and warnings!

We have been fulltiming/ workampers for 1 1/2 years . Currently in Monroe, LA where wife works 16 hrs a week for site

I think RV parks rarely give a free site but most pay a wage.

We volunteered in public parks - national parks, state parks, fish hatchery and always received a free site but no pay.

We didn't do it for a free site. We did it to help out our types of parks that we like to stay.

Maybe , but that hasn’t been our experience. All of our workamper jobs so far have been work for site situations .
Our job we start in May we’ll be pai for all hours , we pay rent at discounted rate .

We have been volunteering for 6+ years, mostly at public places like, State Parks, National Wildlife Refuges, COE parks, US Forest parks and Habitat For Humanity builds (RV Care-A-Vanners). We have a goal to volunteer in each of the lower 48 states and are half way through the map. The benefit to volunteering is we typically get a FHU site in a park for a month or so that regular campers can only stay at for 14 days with limited hook up's. The additional benefit is we get involved with the park and can be as busy as you want to be.

I work at the RV park we stay at on a part time basis. I only want to work part time about 20 hours a week to stay active. I take off several months during the Texas summer and travel. When I return from our travels I may not have a job there right away. I try to do a good job while working so I have a better chance of getting that job back. I pay the same for my site as other campers.

I appreciate the suggestion! But this post is about working part time at RV Parks, and not oriented about full time! They're are MANY folks that are not full time, yet do work at these parks seasonally! "Just Conversation" about those that have experienced this while camping!

On the contrary, MANY sites do offer these deals! While on long term trips these opportunities help out economically along with site camaraderie! And even if it's not about the economics of your trip, it is a perfect opportunity to get involved and staying busy, rather than hibernating in the rig,,,,along with the nice perk! One suggestion when you make contact with a park is that everything is up for negotiating. Many places ask for 3 months and we will try to negotiate a 1 month gig and may settle for 2 months max. We also don't mind doing bathroom duty but we will not sit at a desk, like a Visitor Center (to much like our old career jobs).
I keep a running list of our past volunteer jobs with contact info and use that as our reference attachment for application references. I recently found a site that list US Government parks that might be interesting.

Bingo! love to hear that others are on the same page! This sounds like a great direction!
