I need to replace my two 6 volt coach batteries. I notice that both W-M and Sams have 6-volt golf-cart batteries. Has anyone used these in their coach? I like the price (about $50 each)and their warranty. We do a little boondocking, but mostly stay in membership parks. Thanks for any info. Happy Holidays.

I purchased a set (6) from Sams Club in 1999, they are still good (with one exception).

I use Hydro-Caps to reduce the number of times I need to add water -- and am able to check that less often.

The one exception is the leak on the top of one caused by my dropping one of the others on it (groan). Have traded that one with a spare of the same vintage my brother had (his just sit at home).

I have a pair that I got from Sam's club. I have used them hard for two seasons now and they seem to be doing well. I have been using the caps that came with the batteries with no problems. see ya, jeff'

Hydro-Caps replace the normal venting caps on the batteries -- they have a catalytic element that recombines the hydrogen and oxygen that off-gases when the batteries are charged.

I purchased mine from what I understand to be the original maker. Currently a Google search shows a lot of discussions and some other sources:

Purchased caps for six T-105's with no problems for the first 3-4 yrs., large red/blk caps nearly 2" tall and dia. nearly size of half-dollar. Once every two yrs. would clean and let dry while off battery. Then started to require glueing back together, next started replaceing with a new and improved hydo-cap which was much smaller, yellow/white and so far again no problem. Expect the smaller caps to have a longer life.

last entry on this-
tried sams batteries(exide) and the length of the threaded post is 1/4" to short. My cables are not forgiving so I had to return them.
Went to the NAPA dealer on 45s from I40 and hes batteries could work except my cables are not forgiving. had to return them also.
We will go north of jackson, TN and buy Trojan as thatvis whats there and all the cables work for them.
I appreciate your help!

An alternative to the hydro caps are the 'auto-filler' caps which allow you to fill all the cells at once using a squeeze bulb pump. Camping world has 2 brands, about $60 for 12 cells (2 12v or 4 6v batteries). Add on kits are available for more batteries (including the chassis battery).
