Best Covert Overnight Boondocking Opportunies....

Hey All,

It may seem like common sense, but the best place I have found for overbite covert boondocking... an RV Dealership.

Casinos. Nobody has better parking lot security than a casino.

Alot of casinos are are running campers off or making high end campgrounds. I am a casino camper and have seen campers staying weeks at casino parking lots that's BS and wrecks the privilege for considered campers.

There will always be people that take advantage of a situation and eventually ruin it for others. Walmart comes to mind.

Why does it have to be 'covert' ----'stealth' ----camping?
Hiding from someone..
Just be cheap...

Covert/Stealth gives the impression of doing it underhanded/wrong.

Lots of places still aloow overnight PArKING to rest/sleep
Covert/Stealth camping is wrong UNLESS you are BLM/Boondocking then pack in/pack OUT and do so within the proper time frames

TwoGypsies are you one those campers I’ll bet , I have stayed casino del sol Tucson 4 days spending money and getting to know people that boondocks in the parking lot. I have stopped back on my way home being away for months and the same campers are there . There is no more boondocking at casino del sol in Tucson.

Overbite camping, lol

I'm sure the OP is only kidding about the RV dealership. All of them in my area have high fences and closed gates after hours. And most don't have any extra space for parking anyway. One other thought, I'll bet most RV owners are not competent enuf to drive through a dealership without hitting something.

I am aware that there are slugs out there who sneak into RV parks after hours and sneak out before the staff is aware of them being there.

Not in Tucson but I've seen quite a few RV dealers with a parking area nearby or on premise out side the fence. I've utilized them on occasion. My prepared comeback for LEO is that I have an intermittent water pump malfunction. I've never been asked, however and always leave before business hours.

I don't think I would every want to be parked some where that I would have to make up a story to tell an officer. Does not sound like it makes for an enjoyable and pleasant evening.

If in doubt a bit about my/our location I simply call the local police. Then for sure it's OK, and it relieves them of the stress of approaching the unknown, plus I've found that they will sometimes offer to keep an eye on you. If the place is not OK they may suggest a place that is. Or just sneak around to another covert spot. We run with a class B and an enclosed motorcycle trailer so parking is easier than a 45' coach with a toad.

All good. But I guess that wouldn't really be "covert", though.
