Boondock near Littleton, CO

Does anyone know where we can boondock with a pop-up camper near Littleton CO?
We are trying to end up bypassing the fees at Chatfield!

Many thanks,

You're best bet for easy boondocking is to get a map that shows where public lands are, and who manages them. Also, remember that the official term for what you are doing is "dispersed camping".

Federal public lands administered by the BLM and USFS are the easier ones, as you can contact the local or regional office for those agencies and get information, including maps, pretty easily. Even better if you can visit their office in case there is a permit to purchase, and you can verify on a map where you can stay. For the Forest Circus ask for the "Motor Vehicle Use" map.

After that you have state lands. In WA, the state Department of Natural Resources has areas where dispersed camping is allowed. You may find info about the areas this is allowed on their website.

If you get some good info about where to go, let me know and I'll add it to a boondocking map I'm putting together.

themusteach: I am going to be in the Denver area at the same time. The only park that I could find spaces in is Prospect RV Park at 11600 West 44th Avenue in Westminster. When I talked to them earlier today they confirmed space for exactly those two nights.

Maybe I will see you there?

Good luck,

\ken
