Thumbs up Boondockers site

Just letting everyone know we have signed up on the Boondockers site, and we are excited to host our first boondocker, we have a large motorhome and we always find it very hard to find sites large enough for us. So we made one and made it available for others!

Not sure if I would want any of my neighbors to host boondockers on a regular basis and they probably feel the same way about us.

Your point would be more valid if you were referencing the site as a whole, Versus directed at us. We are only stating that we (who live in a very rural area) are offering a legal, safe "free" spot for the night. I could see it as valid if it was a suburban or urban environment that could cause extreme noise or block roadways.

It seems the "boondocking" part of this forums may not be for you.

For other RVers who enjoy talking about their travels, boondockerswelcome.com is pretty cool, which is why we decided to be a host, and we encourage folks who are traveling thru the area a great stay and fun time. We enjoy making new friends!

I did not direct anything towards you personally.

I live in an area of 1 and 2 acre parcels, not wayyy out there in a rural spot. I know most of my neighbors and this concept, around my area, and perhaps other area, would go over about as well as when people rent their homes/vacation homes.

This introduces strangers into certain communities and lots of people don't like change in their own neighborhoods.
Personally, I've met lots of nice folks in the RV world.

Some are a little sensitive though.......

Wow! That's pretty awesome of you. After I retire and hit the road we might have to stop by if it's still available.

WOW... what a great thing to do... I wish I could take you up on the offer sooner than later.. but as okcnewbie says... I'm still a workin' man...

I think its great that people out there are willing to open their homes to other RV'ers... I'm sure you're a conscientious neighbor and wouldn't do something like this unless you've either checked with your surrounding neighbors or know you are so rural neighbors wouldn't even notice..

Again.. thanks !!

Boondockers site

Thanks for doing that. If I lived where I did growing up, I'd do the same. (Unfortunately we live in the suburbs and the RV is at a covered storage barn, but we do take it out very regularly).

I don't know. My neighbors would be fine with it. I don't mind if they host.

Host

I have been a host on the Boondockers Welcome system since Sept. Out of the three groups that have stayed here three of them have been great.
I have another family on the way here. looking forward to meeting them.

Before you say yes, you get to have a look at the profile of your prospective guest and any history that they have had with others. The only thing you are asked to give is a parking space for a day or several, (whatever you agree to).

I enjoy helping other travelers and give them electric, water, garbage, and use of my washer/dryer. So it does cost me a little to help others, but I believe that my past Karma is what gives me the good life that I have today.

To paraphrase Jesus, he said whatever you do to others, you have done to me.
