You do what YOU enjoying doing. Some folks sew, knit, crochet, wood work, carve, geocache, explore, build sand castles, needle point, play on computer, drink, get a tan, ride bicycle, fly RC, rock hound, customize your coach, train your dog/cat, catch/eat desert bugs, prospect for gold/silver, cook, hike, visit/get to know everyone, drink, construct plastic models, paint, draw/sketch, kayak, canoe, construct RC cars/planes, soccer, hacky-sac, search for dinosaur bones, and on and on it goes...

I like to go exploring, hiking and backpacking with my dog, I'm an amateur radio operator, and I like to read. These things are pretty easy to do just about anywhere.

Do you tow a car? To really explore the surrounding area down to Yuma and up to Havasu City, you'll need a car.

Have you ever been there? Have a backup plan just in case it's not for you. Some love it and others a definite 'no'. We've been there often for 2 weeks at a time at mid-January - 'THE' time to be there. However, we stay on 14-day land with a large group of friends so we do things together and only once will go 'shopping' in town.

"catch/eat desert bugs" Nope!

Read and understand all of the manuals that come with your rig. That should last you.
Amateur radio can be interesting.
Read books, cook (new recipes), buy 30 different kinds on whiskey and do a taste test (invite neighbors to become very popular, spoiler alert: Irish will always win), read books, wander around and ask what others do and se what interests you (asking someone to show you their hobbies will make you popular also but not as much as whiskey), Astronomy (use binoculars to start out).

If you look at Quartzsite as the hub of a wheel then you have lots too look at out at the edge of the wheel.

Lake Havasu is 73 miles away - further on same road is Bullhead City/Laughlin @ 122 miles
Yuma is 83 miles
Phoenix is 128 miles away
Kingman is 153 miles to the northeast
Prescott is 135 away
Cottonwood is 190.

Now all along the routes to these places are all kinds of neat touristy things to do. You can walk over the border into Mexico from Yuma and just hace a great time shopping and haggling.

YMMV but I love that area.

That's the great part about the desert, for the most part. You can do just about anything and nobody cares. Not a lot of rules, ordinances, regulations, etc. We went off roading, hiking, shooting, geocached, flew our drone, had campfires, star gazed, took lot's of epic pictures and timelapses and generally just chilled. Nice break from moving all the time, fighting crowds at more touristy places and rushing about trying to see everything. And we were only there for three weeks!

You will be able to keep the side by side busy. Buy the latest off road guide at the Chamber of Commerce or the hardware store. The BLM routes are well documented. Also there’s the Arizona Peace Trail-hundreds of miles of trails from Lake Havasu City to Yuma.

I've never been a rock hound, but last year we went to Crystal hill and found a lot of nice crystals. We were only there 13 days, but we were never bored!

You forgot to list the “Desert Bar” “Nellies Saloon” about 5 miles north of Parker turn right on Ceinaga (sp) Road for about 5 miles of dirt/gravel road. Outstanding Saloon, FUN place. Look them up on the web.

We live only 120 miles from Quartzsite. Been going there for 20+ years but not for 3 months at a time. Our Church RV group from Joshua Springs in Yucca Valley goes there every year in January for a week.
