Boondocking parking MH off the road

I too would like to go to alaska. On my return trip with my new 1999 HR motor home (2011)I pulled off the pavement onto the shoulder and immediately sank 38000# (moist and grassy). I understand what I did wrong but? Gravel only what to look for etc.

Much of AK is muskeg define muskeg - Bing DICTIONARY espeically heading north on the RIchardson, having said that there are many paved and gravel pull offs on just about every main hwy through AK. Look for areas where it is obvious ohters have pulled over.

Another reason to stay away from muskeg is mosquitos.
