Boondocking South Dakota

Hi All, So my wife retires July 1st. For our first trip out of the gate we will be at the Winnebago factory from July 12~23rd for the WIT club's Grand National Rally. After that we would like to visit the badlands and the Black Hills in South Dakota.

What we are looking for are people who are familiar with these areas and who can suggest boondocking sites at these locations. Looking for the "insider" info that I know many of our fellow boondockers have but guard closely... so I promise I won't tell

Thanks for any insider boondocking info you can provide about this area!

You need to look into the Escapee's RV Club. A splinter of Escapee's (SKP) is Days End. Day's End is a web based collection of boondocking places all over the US & Canada, including the Maritimes. SKP: https://www.escapees.com After you get your SKP number you can join Days End at: http://www.daysenddirectory.com You can get a sample version of Days End at their web site prior to joining. I think the whole package is around $50.

Days End is about 700+ pages and updated constantly by its members. Another great part is that you can put in your route and all the towns that have boondocking near by will appear.

Days End is the best deal out there !!

Boondocking

We spent a night at the Belle Fourche Reservoir. Nice and quiet.

The Sage Creek primitive campground at the far western edge of the Badlands is fun. It's more of a horse camp, circular parking, you'll most likely have a Bison experience as well!
