No tents and no hard ground for me. I love sitting on the edge of my hammock in the morning, watching everybody crawl out of their miserable tents

Although i have never done either, i would see boondacking as out where no hookups available, your on you own, self sustained.

I see no difference between having full hookups or 110 gallons of fresh water, 10KW generator, 100+ gallons holding tank capacity, satellite HD TV and cell tower internet access. Plus 2 bathrooms in a 45' motorhome.

Forgot to mention a cellphone capable of calling any phone in the world.

But is it really boondocking if you park where the honeywagon comes by twice a week to pump you out and the water wagon comes by three times to fill you up?

Some seem to use words like a title or rank. Call it what you want it does not matter to me. I like parks, resorts, Wally world, but I really like anything with food, yum Cracker Barrel.

I was offended to so I regestered a complaint with the manager at the last walmart we stayed at . He appologized and said that I was welcome to call our stay " wallydocking" I slept like a baby. I suggest to the op when ever staying at walmart go inside and ask the manager to change your stay from boondocking to wallydocking. Most managers will say yes although once a manager forced me to stay under the title of boondocking. We will never stay there again.

We have never stayed in a parking lot, we do a lot of boondocking though. I can't see us ever staying in a parking lot.

I'm "boondocking" at a very remote Walmart somewhere in Virginia tonight. We did spot some feral cats and dogs out here so I put out my propane campfire to scare them off. You have to be prepared out here in the wild.😱😱

I have signs that I display in my windshield......boondocking, wallydocking, rving and camping. I display the appropriate sign in the windshield to avoid offending anyone. Once I left the rving sign displayed by accident while wallydocking and was woke up in the middle of the night by the manager. He was polite but said I had to change signs because shoppers were complaining that we were wallydocking under the wrong terminology.

Actually this is roughing more than way out in the woods. I usually don't put my tailgater out at Walmart because I'm worried about it. I have to make sure I park facing south and I put it in my front window. I don't get HD, and a few channels are missing.

I's all RV'ing whether you are using your own power or plugged into someone else's. It really doesn't make any difference.
