Can you buy LTVA permits on site?

Hi,
We're in Yuma now and thinking about spending a week of so in the Imperial Dam LTVA. Can I buy the permit on site or do I have to stop at the Yuma office?
What are conditions like in the area as we don't want to get stuck. Does that tend to be a big problem or is it just our first timers jitters?

Thanks hope to see you there.

The office is up by the reservoir and a lot of people camp near it. That is where the dump station, water and trash pickup are. There is a Christian Center about a mile south of the office and provides drinking water and a place to get mail. They will also receive UPS and FedEx packages for you. We have the same RV and towed as you and have no problem with the terrain.
