Cat out of the bag

While reading about "Boonedocking" and WW and the such here this morning, I remember Going to a Cabella's in Rogers Mn last summer and while driving around the Bldg I stumbled on a Parking Lot for RV's.
It had
Cement Parking (level)
Blk Tank Dump.
Water.
A dog walk.
A place for horses to feed.
A picnic Table.
All FREE.

"Don't have to ask or get turned out"
You'll know you have a spot before you get there.
I think there was like 20-25 spots to park @ angle.
All FREE.
I looked at Cabella's site (A little research) and they have a Pick your Store Map for thru out the USA with Current locations and future/to be built and amenities (List whats there) and they will state if there is RV Parking on not, Dump or not. Just click on the location.
I have never seen this before, doesn't anybody know about this. I haven't read about Business's that have this. It was behind the store so you don't get traffic and it is nice.
Are there other Business out there that do this for the RV peoples? That no-one knows about?

Cabela's

I noticed the same thing last summer at the same Cabela's. There were actually 2 RV's in line to dump, which is what caught my eye. So then I had to check out all the amenities. It's easily accessible and maybe 10 miles from my house. Nice to know your can look it up on their website.

Most Cabela's welcome RV'rs (we tend to spend a lot of $$$ there, just like WM) & if the location has the space, they'll have more than just a separate lot for us. It's nice of them to do this. Kudo's to Cabela's.

Few businesses have info like they do on websites & if they do, they keep it a secret. It's forums like iRV2 that get the word out.

How is it one careless match can start a forest fire but it takes a whole box to start a campfire?

I read of a Cabala manager inviting us RVers to use their facilities when traveling, here on this site. So did a Home Depot manager.
I prefer WM that are opened 24 hrs if dumping not required.
I also use app called RV Parky.

Last summer, on the way to California, we camped at the Cabella's RV park in Sidney, Nebraska. That's right, a full service RV park, right next to the store, and within walking distance of some nice restaurants and a Walmart. I asked one of the employees if there would be more of these built, but she didn't know. We enjoyed the stay so much, we did it again on the return trip. BTW, Sidney is the location of Cabella's corporate headquarters.

Also, they had a separate angled drive-through parking area for 18 wheelers and it seemed like there were far more parked (and overnighting) than would be making deliveries to the store.

Driving back from California in September we stopped at the Cabela's on Rt 80 just west of Reno. Lots of open parking area and a dump but there were signs posted all over the parking lot saying no overnight parking. I went in the store and asked and they said No Problem, just disregard the signs and thanked me for asking.
We got settled in a spot and immediately went in the store to shop. Best policy when wanting to overnight in a store parking lot is to first ask permission and if they say yes, go spend some money in the store. Its a win for all. And a big thank you to Cabela's for their hospitality and also having a dump station in the parking lot.

"Are there other Business out there that do this for the RV peoples?"

You’ll find many of the Indian and Nevada casinos have RV “campgrounds” especially in the West.

Sounds great. We are getting a Cabela's in Greenville - believe they are opening April 1. Hopefully people use this in the manner intended and not abuse their hospitality by squatting there for days.
