Congress AZ BLM Review
I spent a week in this area recently. It is located on Ghost Town RD just north of town. Here are my thoughts:
Easy access
Super clean
Free
Closest neighbor 100 yards
Some target shooting during the day close by.
A few airplanes
Train about 1 mile away (sounds cool)
Close to town and gas
Granite MT Hotshots Memorial close.
I spent every day exploring the area in my toad. Not much too see. The road to Stanton is OK. There are BLM areas on Stanton RD as well, not very nice. Great area if you have Motorcycles.

Congress, AZ is on Hwy 89 when traveling from Wickenburg to Prescott.
We have been trying to make it to that BLM camping are since last year.
We have camped a couple of times at the BLM Burro Creek campground further up Hwy 93 between Nothing and Wikieup. There is water and dump.
We were there almost two years ago when someone was impersonating as the campground host. A few weeks later he was shooting a pistol at kayakers and is now in jail.
The Kingman BLM LEO waived our campground fees for having to "deal with this guy".

Nice and quiet looking. The DW wants a body of water this month for kayaking.
We will get to Congress. Thanks for review!

Please share your Kayaking locations, I am fond of Rocky point. If you do get to this location I would also like some feedback on your thoughts about the site. As some think boondocking is parking at wallmart my idea is much more remote, this site is somewhere in the middle.

We only have smaller WM kayaks for still water. We will be at Roosevelt in a few weeks and then want to go to Parker Canyon Lake down south.
We have done the Lower Salt but the DW crashed and dumped it so she won't do it again.

Parker Canyon is nice. While there you might want to mosey on over to Patagonia Lake State Park - extremely nice.
.... and people think Arizona is all desert. It has awesome mountains and water, too.

We were at Patagonia Lake State Park a couple of years back but have always wanted to return.
We had a mission a few years back to visit every AZ state park that offered RV camping.

Yes, but we will not be back. The State had raised the campground fees beyond ridiculous!
