East Bound from Denver

Hi All,

Next Monday, 8/5/2013, I'll be picking up a new-to-us 1992 Lazy Daze. I'll be traveling East to Chicago and will need to be in Chicago by Friday, 8/9/13.

Does anyone know of any out-of-way boondocking locations, or, at least some state campgrounds, or others, that are something other than parking lots.

Thanks in advance.

John

Are you asking about sites in the Chicago area or someplace along the way? If along the way, what general area?

Champing in the Chicago is sparse. There are no camp grounds in the city or in any of the close in suburbs. You might try Fish Lake Beach. Camping - Fish Lake Beach Resort It is a 5 minute drive to a Metra station where you can park for free and take the train into the city.

Thanks guys,

I've got a campsite for Friday and Saturday in the Chicago area -- Blackwell Family Campground in DuPage County.

I think I'm going to stay in Idalia, CO Sunday night as I'll be leaving late and will only be traveling for a few hours. After that, looks like I'll be finding somthing in the state parks. I'll, basically be following 36 and 136 most of the way.

Thanks,

John
