Free camping at hot springs near Holtsville

Hi everyone
I am thinking about spending a night or two at the hot springs near Holtsville. I know there is LTVA there but is there the 14 day no fee area also
Thanks

Yes, but you must be at least a mile (or is it two?) from the ltva border.

Easiest way to get there is to go under the I-8 just before the actual hot springs. That road will bear left and parallel I-8 for a ways then turns inland in a southerly direction. In about two miles once started south on the unpaved road, keep looking to your left and you will see the roofs of RV's down in a hollow, turn left there and join the others. Where they are is just about at the legal distance required beyond the LTVA.
