Fullriver Batteries
I'm in the market for new house batteries. My pack is 650 AH. There Trojan 12 volt flooded they are 8 yrs. old. I'm looking at going to 6 volt Fullriver DC400-6 L16 AGM. Has anybody had any experience with the Full river brand? I would like to hear pros and cons.

The flooded L16 is about half the price but either type would be a improvement.
With AGM make sure your charger can be set for that type of battery.

I agree.
First: L-16 is a darn good battery,, Just remember to buy 'em in pairs and EACH PAIR wired in series is a 12 volt battery (Do not add amp hours, only voltage for the pair,, when you have more than one pair add amp hours for each pair).
I keep reading about all the "Advantages" of AGM.. And in fact,, I do not see them.. they just are not there for the most part and for the rest are NOT worth the additional cost.
Faster re-charge: Only if your converter has the amps.
Low Gasing, no need to water: Same goes for Maintenance free.
Mount on side, upside down and so on: IF needed, that one is a legit advantage.. IF NEEDED, if not, then it's not and advantage.

AGMs are electrolite starved, so no worry of freezeng, even if fully discharged. No stratification issues.
Can be stored disconnected for up to a full year without the need for a maintainer charger when stored fully charged.
They will recharge faster because they have less internal resistance than wet cell or gel cell batteries.

I have had four Fullriver DC220-6 AGM batteries for a couple of years and they have performed very well. We purchased them from Battery Systems in Portland, OR just before our solar install at AM Solar in Springfield, OR. I think you will be satisfied with them.

According to "where are your batteries made" they are made in China. After reading hundreds of negative comments about RV tires made in China, I'd be quite skeptical.

Fullriver Battery is a privately owned company and one of the largest Valve Regulated Sealed Lead Acid (VRLA) Battery manufacturers in the world. The company's deep cycle battery range carries certifications from all major international quality verification agencies.

Just because they are made in China does not mean they are not a quality product.

Jackfish has a good eye for quality. I've read how he has it setup his rig, and seen it in Alaska. Impressive.
It's like everything now a days:
-You don't always get better quality by paying more...
-You can buy something made in America that is best just taken out of the packaging and tossed into the trash can - pure junk...
-You can buy somethings made in China that are of excellent quality and design...
And of course, the old saying 'Don't judge a book by it's cover.' - can also fit with products from China too...
Good reports by many owners of these batteries. Rolls are nice too, Concorde, and as Lifelines - these would be the normal to cross shop with and compare to Fullriver.
Best of luck to you,
Smitty

I installed six GC224-6 Full River AGM's in my coach in late 2013 and they are doing fine. My research revealed they were a good battery.

Thats your prerogative, but would it not be better to judge a product by its quality, rather the the country of origin.

After seeing the report on TV last evening about flooring from China and their willingness to sell bad products and document it otherwise, I am starting to question everything China. The problem is, "Everythings China"

Thanks all for the advice. I'm holding off tell Sept. to buy the batteries. Found them in California for about $100.00 per battery less than I can buy in Utah.
