That's just not true. We draw about 75 AH a day in moderate temps (75-80 degrees). Even less if we shut the inverter off overnight. That's half our usable AH and all our lights, TV, computers aren't drawing another 80 per day. Not even close and we're not trying especially hard to conserve.

Again, that might be your experience but it's not most people's. We boondock all the time and not just for a day or two. We've only got 300 watts of solar but with an hour or two in the generator in the morning, even in the middle of winter with no tilting, we can easily have the batteries at or near 100% by sundown. In the summer, we don't have to run our generator at all if we don't want to.

Residential refrigerators and boondocking do mix and very well. Even without solar it can be done with several hours or generator time a day and enough battery capacity to run them between 50 and 90% SOC.

We've heard all the horror stories about boondocking and residential fridges. We've been told we needed a kilowatt on the roof and at least four GC batteries and probably 6-8 of them. That's nice to have but certainly not necessary. Boondocking is easy, even with a residential fridge.

So as it turned out, we left the new motor home sitting in the dealership lot, and will continue our travels in our current rig. Made my concern a non issue for us for a while. Our propane fridge works great, and ice cream is hard enough for us
Interesting discussion though...
